The City of London School for Girls hosted a highly successful 125th Anniversary Gala Dinner at Guildhall in July, entitled Championing Future Thinkers. The event raised funds to increase the proportion of means-tested bursary places at the school from the current level of 16%. There are always many more worthy recipients of such awards than current resources allow for.
Ward of Cheap Councillor Nick Bensted-Smith, Chairman of the Board of Governors, paid tribute to the army of helpers and the event’s sponsors in his speech rounding off the evening , which was attended by 600 girls, alumni, current and former parents, friends and benefactors.
